Ashland native Steve Francis captured his 18th top 10 on the season this past Sunday afternoon at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, Arkansas.
Francis started 20th in the 21st annual Topless 100 after just missing out on the final transfer spot in his heat race. He advanced on to the second B-Main, where he captured the win, which therefore secured him the 20th starting spot in the feature. Francis charged all the way to a very respectable 10th place finish in a loaded field of cars.
Terry Phillips of Missouri took home the $40,000 payday, as he beat out Lucas Oil Series points leader Jimmy Owens for the Topless 100 victory. Francis remains in 2nd place in the Lucas Oil points standings.
Steve will be back in action on August 22nd, as the Lucas Oil series visits Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN.
