DTWC Weekend Recap

The last "Crown Jewel" event is in the books for the year as 79 late models competed for $50,000 Saturday night at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Ohio.

The weekend began Friday night for the late models and the 20-year old Illinois native, Brandon Sheppard captured the overall fast time with a 14.57. Grayson native and track favorite Jackie Boggs was second fastest with a 14.75.

Congrats to B-Shep on the win. He becomes the youngest driver to ever win the DTWC. Sheppard wasn't racing in his usual B5 Rocket, as he was wheeling the Rocket house car of Josh Richards who decided to take the weekend off.

Also congrats to EKY natives Steve Francis, Jackie Boggs, Eric Wells, and Chris Combs on making the DTWC!

Good showing for Josh McGuire and Stephen Breeding as well.

Brandon Kinzer didn't race at PRP, but did travel to Talledega short track and finished 3rd down south. Congrats Brandon!

Next up is the Halloween 50 at 201 Speedway this upcoming Saturday night.
