Mother Nature presented us with a blessing?

We've all cursed mother nature plenty of times this year, whether it be that it ruined your race plans, a cookout, a football game, etc. It happens and no one can help it - as she struck yet again Friday night at Florence and canceled the Ralph Latham Memorial Lucas Oil race, and rained out the Roger Breeding Memorial last night at 201.

However, just when you thought your racing weekend was ruined, 201 gets to reschedule their Roger Breediing Memorial $5000 to win super late model race for TODAY, yes today. Also it just so happens that the Lucas Oil boys are still in the area as well. They may have been rained out Friday, however the ran last night at Brownstown Speedway in Indiana and they are off until Thursday, before they head to Knoxville, Iowa.

Lucas Oil driver, the "Salt Rock Express" Eddie Carrier Jr has already committed to coming. Jimmy Owens planned out coming for the Hatfield/McCoy Feuding 50 back in July before it got rained out. So he may show up, because his race shop is only a few hours away in Tennessee. So is Lucky 7's Post World 40 winners Scott Bloomquist's race shop. We also may get to see the 2013 World 100 winner, John Blankenship!

What a great opportunity us fans have here. I'm not in anyway saying those guys will be there, but it's actually highly possible. Plus we already get to see guys who committed to coming earlier in the week like: Boggs, McGuire, Linville, Thornsberry, Conley, Kinzer, Dohm, Hawkins, Fisher, Combs, Fouts, Wright, Harris, Howell, Davis, etc etc etc.

We could possibly see 35-40 late models this evening, plus some of the best open wheel modified drivers in the Ohio Valley area.

I know folks have to work, go to school, etc on Monday, but I think venturing over to 201 Speedway will be well worth your time and money. It's really a blessing in disguise, because we all thought that mother nature won another weekend of dirt racing, but she left us with a perfect day today.

I wouldn't hold my breath, but it would be something special for not only 201 Speedway, but for us fans as well to see guys like Owens, Bloomquist, Marlar, Blankenship, etc race in our own backyard.

Should be a great day for racing. The weather is supposed to be in the high 60s and low 70s during the day and get pretty cool overnight, so everyone needs to bring their colder weather gear for late on this evening.

Gates open at 2 PM - Drivers meeting at 5 PM - $20 general admission - $35 pit pass - Kids 10 & under get in free both gen admission and pits

Only late models & modified's will be qualifying. Bombers and 4-cylinders will be drawing.

Hope to see everyone there!
